L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation
As someone who is obsessed with beauty products, I'm always on the hunt for a new foundation. With my skin cracking under the dry winter weather (sometimes literally), I wanted to find a formula that was both hydrating and glowy - something that would make my skin look awake again.
Enter - L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation. I had seen ads for this foundation on television (Hi, Karlie Kloss) and listened to reviews of it online. After hearing positive review after positive review I decided that this foundation could be the one for me. When I got to Walgreens, I was even more pleasantly surprised. I liked the shade range, as I could pick from warm, neutral or cool toned foundations. $17 dollars later I was skeptical but hopeful.
Turns out, I LOVED it. It glided over my skin and made it look healthy and dewy again. I didn't feel like my face was sucked of all moisture during the day - in fact it even made me a bit oily (not necessarily a good thing). I was reaching for this foundation everyday, using the sponge it came with to blend it seamlessly onto my skin. To keep a long story short: I was in love with this foundation.
Until it ran out a month later. A MONTH. I had paid $17 for .5 oz of foundation - about half the amount you get in a traditional bottle. After one month, my top-shelf foundation had run out - and I was livid. The typical lifespan of a foundation for me can range anywhere from 5-8 months and here I was with an empty cushion foundation after just one month.
My recommendation? Don't buy this foundation. While the formula is incredible, and the shade range enviable, it simply isn't worth the money if it's going to run out in a month. I've compromised by buying the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid foundation - same formula, less expensive and is bound to last a lot longer.
