Let me let you in on a little secret: I've never made a New Year's Resolution. To be honest, I've always thought that the turn of a calendar page didn't have that much significance. It was a great reason to celebrate something with my family, but we've never really needed an excuse. The party dresses and bold makeup were intriguing, even enviable, but the same could be said for Christmas or any 21st birthday party anyone has ever attended. I just didn't see the point.
As I geared up for this year's festivities I decided to be a little more open minded. This year I'd write down a few goals for the year and attempt to commit to them. Here's what I came up with:
- Eat more vegetables
- Set aside more time to read for fun
- Drink more water
- Work out 3 days a week (or work out at all)
- Go on more adventures
- Find a job I LOVE
- Only buy clothes that make me happy
- And finally......post more on this blog!
Sounds simple right? I'm sure that these goals will find their way into a bevy of blog posts in the future. Maybe I'll even check back in at the end of the year and see how I did! I'm hoping that by giving this whole resolution thing a chance I'll be able to make 2016 my best year yet.
