Farmer's Market on Broadway

Green Bay can be pretty boring. For many years its biggest attraction was Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. However, over the past few years its downtown area has become a very cool place to hang out. The Farmer's Market on Broadway is one of the many events that makes Green Bay special in the summer. After the struggle to find parking, my friends and I walked amongst the booths, sampling cheese and people-watching. The Farmer's Market is a place for socialization, not necessarily to run errands in my opinion. While there are many booths offering fresh vegetables and fruits, meats and breads, there are also food trucks and live music for those who are just there to enjoy the day.

The smell radiating from all over the square quickly made us hungry. I stopped for a burrito at Taqueria Maldonado's, a Mexican food truck that is notoriously fresh and delicious. With chorizo, pulled pork and tons of fresh veggies, I was soon stuffed. Needless to say that did not stop me from indulging in a cake in a cup courtesy of Chics-N-Dip, a company started by local Wisconsin women. I chose the strawberry shortcake flavor and I was not disappointed; the presentation was fun as well!

The Farmer's Market was the perfect addition to my #SummerOfMe series. It allowed me to explore a little more of what Green Bay has to offer, while satisfying my stomach (always a plus). I attempted to scout for street style among the other patrons, but sadly found next to no inspiring outfits (this is Green Bay after all). After this realization, I now see that I was probably a bit overdressed, but better overdressed than under-dressed, right?
